Variation: How to Make Key Lime Pie Ice Cream

This ice cream is absolutely delicious as is, but you can use this ice cream recipe to easily change it into Key Lime Pie Ice Cream.

Key Lime Pie Variation

If you’d like to turn this ice cream into the Key Lime Pie variation all you have to do is:

Add 1/2 – 3/4 cup of broken graham crackers or broken graham cracker crust to the ice cream during the last 5 minutes of mixing.

An easy addition and another delicious result.

Make it whichever way you want – or perhaps try both!

A Little Bit about Lime Juice

This ice cream recipe works well either with fresh squeezed lime juice or with lime juice from a bottle.

Intensifying the Green Color of the Ice Cream

This ice cream makes a white ice cream.

You may want your ice cream to be a soft green or a vibrant green to compliment the lime flavor.

Simply add green food coloring to the ice cream base before pouring it into your ice cream maker.

Use a yellow based green (rather than a bluish green) or add a bit of yellow with your green to create the right color.

Serving Tip

You can serve this ice cream inside a full 8 inch graham cracker pie crust or serve inside individual sized graham cracker pie crusts to create a Key Lime Pie.

Top with whipped cream.
