Gingerbread Ice Cream Recipe

What would Christmas be without the smell of gingerbread wafting through the air tantalizing our taste buds?!

Gingerbread

Gingerbread has been enjoyed in some form since before the year 1000.

This dessert has history, folks!

Gingerbread was part of German Christmas tradition and was popularized to the rest of the world by Queen Victoria.

The love of gingerbread at Christmas times continues to this day.

What better way to enjoy the flavor of this Christmas treat, than by combining that flavor with the creaminess of ice cream?

Easy Gingerbread Ice Cream

Adjusting to Taste

This recipe produces a delicious ice cream with the all the glory of gingerbread.

Gingerbread can be too strong of a flavor for some folks.

Yes, there are some that don’t like gingerbread or gingerbread cookies because the flavor is too strong.

So, I suppose when it comes to gingerbread, “delicious-ness is in the mouth of the taster!”

I think this ice cream is perfect as is, but if you would like to have a less strong gingerbread flavor – simply cut back a bit on the spices.

You can always add more spice later, but it is hard to take the spices out of the ice cream base after you put it in.

Serving Tip

Place one scoop of ice cream in a shallow dish. While the ice cream is still hard, quickly press a cookie stamp into the scoop of ice cream to create a decorative image.
