Dirt Ice Cream Recipe

Have you ever tried Dirt Ice Cream? It’s easy to make and fun to eat!

Dirt Ice Cream Cake

How Did It Get Such a Dirty Name?

This ice cream gets its name from its appearance…definitely not its ingredients or taste!

It is made with a chocolate ice cream base with broken Oreo cookie crumbs added in.

This combo ends up looking remarkably like dirt!

The No-Mess, Easy Way to Crush Oreos

For this recipe, you’re going to need to crush Oreos into crumbs.

If you’ve ever experienced “crumbs” like I have as a mama of 5, you’ll understand how messy they can be!

Here is the easy, no-mess way to crush your Oreo cookies.

Put your Oreos into a Ziploc bag. For this recipe, you’re going to need about 5.

Carefully close the bag.

With the heel of your hand, crush the Oreos.

Simply pour out the Oreo cookies into your ice cream maker when the recipe instructs you to do so.

There. Easy. No-Mess.

You’re welcome.

Add Some Extra “Dirt” Mix-Ins

If you want to continue the dirt theme. You can add some gummy worms into the ice cream as well.

***Do not add the gummy worms while the ice cream maker is churning.

Simply stir the gummy worms in at the end.

The gummy worms are too large for your ice cream maker.

Dirt Ice Cream

The gummy worms add an adventurous vibe to this chocolate ice cream!

Serving Tip

For added flair, serve your dirt ice cream in a flower pot with cookies on skewers as “flowers.”
