Caramel Apple Ice Cream now is among my favorite ice creams.

And I have made and tried A LOT of different ice cream flavors!

This one is a keeper.

Our Verdict

Okay, y’all. You have got to try this recipe.

My family couldn’t get enough of this homemade ice cream either!

This ice cream is a little more involved than other ice cream recipes, after all, most ice creams are simply “dump and go recipes.”

This flavor is still very easy to make, but the results are…smooth, creamy, and delicious!

If you’ve never had this ice cream before, you definitely need to give it a try!

What Type of Apple Should I Use?

Really any variety of apple will work fine in this ice cream.

Granny Smith is the most common variety used for caramel apples.

Why?

Because Granny Smith apples have a slightly tart flavor.

The tartness of this apple variety pairs well with the sweetness of the caramel and the ice cream.

If you don’t have Granny Smith apples, you can use your favorite variety of apple.

Fuji, Pink Lady, Gala, or Honeycrisp are other varieties you might want to try.
