The Verdict

This ice cream was fresh and creamy.

We really enjoyed it.

We make so much ice cream around here – it’s sometimes hard to finish off whole batches before we make a new flavor!

We only made a half batch of this ice cream, but, after trying it, we were wishing we had made a full batch.

Chocolate and Cherries

Chocolate and cherries are a classic combination.

So if you want to add chocolate to this ice cream recipe, it’s easy to do.

Simply add chocolate during the last 5 minutes of mixing.

This will make a black cherry chocolate ice cream.

Types of Chocolate You Can Add

Chocolate can be added in several different ways.

Simply add chocolate chips.

Grated Chocolate

Take a cheese grater and a room temperature chocolate and grate the chocolate with the blade you would use to shred cheese.

Shaved Chocolate

Simply take a potato peeler and a room temperature chocolate bar and peel the chocolate.

Serving Tip

Serve with chocolate curls or grated chocolate on top.

Don’t forget to top with a fresh black cherry!

How to Make Chocolate Curls

Chocolate curls are very simple to make.

You make them similarly to shaved chocolate – but with one main difference – the temperature of the chocolate.

For chocolate curls, you will need a chocolate bar and a potato peeler.

The chocolate needs to be slightly warmer than room temperature.

It needs to be soft, but not mushy and definitely not melted!

Take your slightly warmed chocolate bar and carefully peel off chocolate curls with your potato peeler.

Easy, classy, and delicious.
