Chocolate cookie ice cream is a wonderful combination!

There’s a reason why chocolate cookies dunked in milk has been a classic combination that has weathered the generations and been a nostalgic treat for all ages.

Chocolate cookies and milk were made for each other.

What Type of Chocolate Cookie Should I Use?

I used Chocolate Chip cookies for my recipe. After all, the chocolate chip cookie is the most famous “milk dunking” cookie!

I’ve also made this recipe with Oreo cookies. You can find further instruction on how to make it with Oreos by following this Dirt Ice Cream Recipe.

Graham Crackers or chocolate wafers would also be great when added to this recipe.

The choice is up to you!

THE NO-MESS, EASY WAY TO CRUSH COOKIES

For this recipe, you’ll need to crush the cookies into crumbs.

Sound a little scary to the neat freak cook?

My kids make enough mess, I don’t need to be adding to the chaos!

Here is the easy, no-mess way to crush your cookies.

Put your cookies into a Ziploc bag.

Try to remove the air from the bag; then, seal well.

With the heel of your hand, crush the cookies.

Now your crumbs are in a ready-to-go pouch.

All you need to do is pour the crumbs when the recipe directs.

No-Mess.

Easy.

Perfect.

Serving Tip

Just before serving, sprinkle a little crumbled cookie in each bowl of ice cream, then stand a whole cookie up in the ice cream by partially sticking it into a scoop of ice cream.
