What Type of Cookie Should You Use?

I’ve only ever made this recipe using Oreo cookies. It turns out great every time.

But, feel free to experiment with other cookies.

If you mix cookies and ice cream the result is bound to be good!

The No-Mess, Easy Way to Crush Oreos

This recipe calls for crushed Oreos.

Delicious, yes.

But, potentially very messy.

Here is the easy, no-mess way to crush your Oreo cookies.

Put your Oreos into a Ziploc bag.

Make sure you take the air out of the bag and seal well.

Crush the Oreos with the heel of your hand.

Now all you have to do is pour the Oreo crumbs into your ice cream maker according to the recipe directions.

There. Easy. No-Mess.

Yay!

Serving Tip

Sprinkle just a bit more Oreo cookie crumbs on the top of each serving for a delicious garnish.

You can also use this ice cream as a base for a delicious ice cream cake.
