Ice Cream Recipe

Here's an easy ginger ice cream recipe that'll be the perfect complement to any hot fruit dessert.

Easy to make and, oh, so good! Pair it with a tasty dessert and you've got yourself a guest pleaser.

Since ginger adds a strong flavor, when adding this spice to your ice cream...be careful not to add too much!

Serving Tip: Serve this ice cream alongside your favorite hot fruit dessert...even add a little whip cream if you'd like! It's the perfect complement for pecan pie or cherry cobbler!

Easy Ginger Ice Cream Recipe

Philadelphia Style

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Ice Cream Maker Time: Approximately 25-30 minutes
Makes: 1 1/2 quarts
Servings: Ten 1/2 cup servings

Ingredients:

1 cup milk
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground ginger

Directions:
If you don't have an ice cream maker, click here.

Whisk milk and sugar together (about 1-2 minutes) until sugar completely dissolves.

Stir in heavy whipping cream, vanilla, and ginger until mixed well.

Pour into your ice cream maker.

Mix about 25-30 minutes or according to manufacturer's instructions.

Custard Style

Prep Time: 25 minutes
Chill Time: 2 hours
Ice Cream Maker Time: Approximately 25-30 minutes
Makes: 1 1/2 quarts
Servings: Ten 1/2 cup servings

Ingredients:

2 eggs
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup milk
2 cups heavy cream
1/2 tsp ground ginger

Directions:

Beat eggs with sugar well.

Heat milk in saucepan until it just begins to bubble around the edges.

Pour hot milk over egg mixture, stirring well.

Pour milk/egg mixture back into saucepan and heat.

Stir constantly until mixture thickens and begins to stick to the back of your spoon. Don't let it boil though!

Chill for at least 2 hours.

Stir in heavy cream and ground ginger.

Pour ice cream base into your ice cream maker.

Mix about 25-30 minutes or according to manufacturer's instructions.

Serve and enjoy this tasty ice cream!
