Bruster's FranchiseOwning your own business may be as simple as owning a Bruster's Franchise.
Bruster's seeks to provide customers with the taste of great ice cream in a local ice cream shop. The company has been around since 1989, founded in Bridgewater, Pennsylvania, by Bruce Reed. They have a wide assortment of flavors that varies often, sometimes depending on the season of the year. Cones, ice cream, and other items, like pies, are made in the store. In addition to ice cream, Bruster's offers milkshakes and smoothies. Depending on the store, service can be in-shop, walk-up, or drive-through, or all three combined. Some Bruster's occupy a combination store with Nathan's Hot Dog stands.
Bruster's Franchise InformationWith Bruster's, a potential franchisee has the option of opening a new store or buying an already established store. If you are wanting to own a Bruster's there are few options of what kind of store you want to own. There are smaller satellite franchises, full Bruster's stores, combination stores with Nathan's Hot Dogs, and small trailers that can be easily transported to different events. The downside of satellite stores and trailers is that a franchisee must already have a successful store in operation, and Bruster's does not allow for the opening of more franchises until the first franchise is doing well and has been operating for a while. Support and Training When you are approved to own a Bruster's store, you will then attend the Taste of Bruster's seminar. This seminar instructs the franchisee on how the business is run, and includes touring a Bruster's. When you choose to own an established store, you have the advantage of having an established market. Beyond the seminar, you'll receive more training when your store is ready to open. You will be helped when you are picking a location to place your store, and the company will assist you in choosing your best location.
What They're Looking For Bruster's seeks franchisees who are willing to work hard to achieve success. While they do not necessarily require people who have had experience in running food service businesses, experience is always a plus. However, they make the point that some very successful franchisees have simply been willing and determined to work hard. When seeking to own a Bruster's a potential owner must fill out an application and get their site approved for business. Once a franchisee is approved, he can then begin the process of opening the Bruster's franchise. Wondering about how much a Bruster's franchise costs? Check out the Bruster's franchise FAQ page.
