Maple walnut ice cream combines the the rich flavor of maple syrup with the crunchy texture of walnuts to create a delicious ice cream.
Makes 1 1/2 quarts of ice cream.

Ingredients

maple syrup

milk

cups
heavy whipping cream
2
eggs
½
cup
walnuts
chopped
Instructions
If you don't have an ice cream maker, click here.
In a saucepan over medium high heat, boil maple syrup for about 5 – 10 minutes or until maple syrup has boiled down to about 2/3 cup.
Stir milk and cream into maple syrup and bring to a boil.
Beat eggs until they are light and fluffy.
Pour hot milk mixture over beaten eggs, mixing well.
Pour mixture back into saucepan.
Heat. Stir constantly until mixture begins to stick to the back of your spoon and becomes thick. Don’t let it boil!
Chill for at least 3 hours.
Pour into your ice cream maker.
Mix about 20-25 minutes or according to manufacturer’s instructions.
Add walnuts.
Continue to mix in ice cream maker for 5 more minutes.
Serve and enjoy!
