heavy whipping cream
Instructions
How to make ice cream without an ice cream maker.
Place fresh spearmint leaves in a saucepan and cover leaves with water.
Heat saucepan, bringing water to a boil and softening leaves.
Strain mixture, reserving the leaves and discarding the water.
Place softened spearmint leaves back in the saucepan and add milk. Puree leaves with a stick blender.
For a more intense flavor, heat milk and spearmint mixture, but do not let it boil.
Remove from heat and cool mixture.
Stir in whipping cream.
Chill until completely cooled, about 3 hours.
Pour mixture into ice cream maker.
Churn about 25-30 minutes or according to manufacturer’s instructions.
