Peppermint ice cream is a favorite Christmas ice cream flavor and with this easy recipe, you’ll bring delicious ice cream home for the holidays!

granulated sugar

cup
milk

whipping cream

tsp
vanilla
½
tsp
peppermint extract
⅔
cup
crushed hard peppermint candies

dark chocolate sticks
(optional) or can use shaved dark chocolate
Instructions
If you don't have an ice cream maker, click here.
Place eggs in a small bowl and beat well with sugar.
In a saucepan, heat milk until it starts to bubble.
Pour hot milk over beaten egg mixture. Stir well.
Pour this mixture back into saucepan and heat, stirring constantly until mixture becomes thick and sticks to the back of a spoon.
Chill for at least 2 hours.
After mixture is chilled, stir in cream, vanilla, and peppermint extract.
Pour this ice cream base into your ice cream machine.
Mix for 20-25 minutes (or according to manufacturer’s instructions).
Into the churning ice cream, pour the crushed peppermint candies.
Mix 5 more minutes.
As you transfer the ice cream to another container, stir in chocolate sticks, if desired.
