Ingredients

milk

sugar

heavy whipping cream
1
tsp
peppermint extract
*can use up to 1 1/2 tsp

egg yolks

chocolate chips
(or
4 oz chopped semi-sweet chocolate)
Instructions
If you don't have an ice cream maker, click here.
Place milk, cream, sugar, and peppermint extract in a saucepan over medium heat. Mix.
Heat until mixture just begins to boil.
In a different bowl, beat egg yolks.
Pour hot cream mixture over beaten eggs. Mix well.
Return mixture to saucepan, cooking on medium-low heat until mixture thickens and begins to stick to the back of your spoon.
Remove from heat and chill in refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
Pour chilled mixture into your ice cream maker.
Mix until thick about 25-30 minutes or according to manufacturer’s instructions.
Add chocolate chips during the last 5 minutes of churning.
