Chocolate Cookie Ice Cream
Philadelphia Style
Playing off the classic "cookie dunked in milk" flavor, this recipe is a winner.
Makes 1 1/2 quarts of ice cream.

chocolate
bittersweet or semi-sweet, 8 oz

heavy cream

tsp
vanilla

cookies***
crushed
Instructions
If you don't have an ice cream maker, click here.
Using your stove top or microwave, heat milk until it beginnings to bubble around the edges.
In the mean time, chop the chocolate in a blender or food processor until it is chopped into fine pieces.
Combine chocolate and sugar.
Stir chocolate mixture and and hot milk together until smooth.
Let this mixture cool about 15 minutes.
Stir in heavy cream and vanilla to cooled mixture.
Chill in fridge for 30 minutes or more.
Pour mixture into ice cream machine.
Churn about 20-25 minutes or according to manufacturer’s instructions.
Add crushed cookies to chocolate ice cream.
Churn an additional 5 minutes.
Yum!
***Helpful Hint:
Place cookies in a Ziploc bag. Seal bag. Crush cookies using the heel of your hand.
