Orange Ice Cream Recipe

Philadelphia Style

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Ice Cream Maker Time: Approximately 25 minutes
Makes: 1 1/2 quarts
Servings: Ten 1/2 cup servings

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice (or just plain orange juice works fine too!)
1/3 cup sugar (or more if you'd like!)
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp orange zest (if you want - gives the ice cream a classy look and taste)
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup shaved chocolate (optional)

Directions:
If you don't have an ice cream maker, click here.

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, stirring until mixed and sugar is dissolved.

For best results, cover and place in the fridge until it is cold (several hours or overnight). This will help your ice cream to have a better texture.

Pour the ice cream mixture to your ice cream machine and mix according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Churn about 25 minutes or according to manufacturer's instructions.

Add shaved chocolate during the last 5 minutes of mixing, if desired.

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Ice Cream Maker Time: Approximately 25 minutes
Makes: 1 1/2 quarts
Servings: Ten 1/2 cup servings

Ingredients:

2 large eggs
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice (or just plain orange juice works fine too!)
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp orange zest (if you want - gives the ice cream a classy look and taste)
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup shaved chocolate (optional)

Directions:
If you don't have an ice cream maker, click here.

Whisk eggs for 1-2 minutes until they are light and fluffy.

Gradually, whisk in sugar, then whisk for 1 minute more.

Add orange juice, whipping cream, lemon juice, orange zest, and vanilla, stirring until completely blended.

Pour this mixture into your ice cream maker.

Mix about 25 minutes or according to manufacturer's directions.

Add shaved chocolate during the last 5 minutes of mixing, if desired.
