Apart from the vehicle itself, research the make, model, and model year of the van to check for sustained reliability ratings.

Of course never purchase any vehicle without first having a qualified mechanic thoroughly check it. The same principle would apply if you are leasing a van, though it is advised that you avoid any leasing company that would not handle all of the above issues for you.
